The BCA normally makes some space at the end of the “disk” (either Fusion or normal) by shrinking the HFS+ partition, and then creates a FAT32 partition at the end you can install Windows into. The problem with installing Boot Camp on a 3TB Mac is due to the way the Boot Camp Assistant works, and the way the Mac EFI boots up Windows.
